China's funeral service industry is developing rapidly, and the future development space is huge
Analysis on the development status of funeral service industry
1. Classification of funeral services
According to the classification of funeral services in my country, funeral services in China are mainly divided into four parts:
1) Disposal of dead bodies: refers to the disposal of dead bodies, including cremation services. In my country, the cremation service is solely responsible and controlled by the government, only government agencies can provide related services, and the price is also strictly controlled by the government.
2) Cemetery services: mainly include: ground burial and cemetery sales, referring to sales related to ground burial after cremation (including cemetery sales, mausoleum design and planning, production and installation of plaques and headstones); other burial services, referring to other forms of burial services . Cemetery service The government grants private companies to participate, and the participation of private companies is relatively high at present.
3) Funeral services: mainly include: handling, transportation and cremation of the remains, which refers to the actual disposal, transportation and processing of the remains (including makeup and dressing of the remains); funeral ceremony, which refers to the holding of funeral ceremonies, including other additional services related to funerals; Mourning hall leasing refers to leasing a mourning hall for funeral ceremonies and memorial services. Funeral services are currently dominated by the government and its subordinate specialized units, with low participation from private companies and still restricted in some provinces.
4) Other product sales and services: mainly include: product sales of funeral services; all other funeral services provided by legally registered funeral service providers but not in the above categories and subcategories, such as post-burial memorial services, etc. At present, my country's market development efforts in this area are relatively weak, with private enterprises participating but relatively few business volumes, and low professionalism and service quality, and it is still in a state of low maturity.
Funeral services involve thousands of households and are an important part of social development. Future development requires more philosophical thinking, because it is about life and death; it requires rational planning, because it belongs to a century-old plan; it requires perceptual execution, because it shoulders emotional transmission. The ongoing and upcoming changes in the funeral industry require optimization of government services. New concepts of multiple funeral services should be actively advocated to increase respect for science, life, and basic human rights.
